311 cdi EDC waring light mercedes sprinter

hi, i broke down yesterday, it lost its guts when i accelerating at about 40mph, and the EDC warning light came on.

so i pulled over and then it wouldn't start, and there was deisel on the floor, and is deisel on the fan belt.

any ideas?

also do you know how to prime the deisel on these??

You obviously have a broken or leaking fuel pipe. Get it seen to immediately and it should self-prime.

sounds to me like the one of the two fuel pipes have came of if so dont try and fit the new ones your self unless you have done the before they are very easy broke if not that sound like the fuel pump seal

Have you identified where the diesel leaked from?...to say it spilled over onto your fan belt, would suggest the leak derives from the fuel filter, directly above the belt...e.g feed or draw pipe not secured to top of the filter properly?
