Interesting remote suspension setup. My old crocks have remote suspension, so it makes sense to me.

I like that a lot.

How much did it cost to build then ?

Interesting suspension, but why clothe something so contemporary in the body panels of a Ford that it has absolutely zero connection with?

People love Ford Pop hotrods.

isnt that just a 'plunger' suspension circa 1940 uk motorbikes?

Not quite. The point is they have mounted the ram inside the wheel so get perfect steering pivot and low unsprung mass.

I remember when I was a kid, we lived in an area which was an oval close and this old guy who lived on the opposite side had a hotrod similar to this. From what I know, that hotrod V8 big block he had in it must have had straight exit exhaust pipes with no muffler as everytime he brought it out of the garage, the thundering rumble sound of that V8 bounced off all the houses around the close. Even the front windows in our house used to rattle when that thing was idling.

From watching numerous youtube vids, it must have been a 454 or 502 big block as only those big blocks produced that really raw throaty fierce sound. 302 or 350 engines sounded a bit more tame.

What, like this... Small block vs Big block,

Anyway looks like an ideal set up for active suspension too I'd have thought DM. The head in the wheel needs to be reliable, not easily damaged, non binding, no leaks weaps etc. It does look to be a nice piece of Engineering even if it is going to be expensive. Imagine Ohlins doing something like that for the Hot Rodders - if they don't already...??

Here are some cheaper, less tech-o set ups - but still pretty good quality...
