Well it might well be the forth or even the fifth time the wife has hit a kerb, but this one is definitely a biggy!

Well, as the saying goes, "If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well."

I feel your pain...:(

I'd have been concerned after the first time.

Your best bet would be to pay for her to take driving lessons with a driving instructor rather than use your Merc.

Within 3 months of marriage, knew for it to last, that "SWMBO" would have to have 60% profile tyres, steel wheels with trims.

OP - the only remedy is separate cars and try not to notice.

So how do you find the single life?

;) :D

Perfect remedy, this also stops the 'well I didnt do it' you get when sharing.

Mrs. 203 ruins (I mean drives) our Benz mostly while I have my beloved old 406. Should be vice-versa as the Pug is beyond its worry about years!

We're the same. She does most of the school runs so my main runaround is the convertible.

Ouch. Is it cracked?
no it's just one heck of a dink!

Ealier in the week we were out in the Merc with me driving on one of the very few occasions im allowed and I managed to clip the kerb,, blimey she bent my bloody ear hole about it, went on and on until we got home.

When we got home I checked for any tyre damage but it was fine, upon closed inspection I noticed THREE of the wheels have had close relations with kerbs,

Oh how I enjoyed the next 5 minutes

Just don't clean the wheels for another 6 months and you wont be able to tell.:D

You could try the tack "these things happen, don't worry, no big deal but it looks horrid could you get the car into a wheel specialist and have it fixed please". Inconvenience to better half and bill to pay...

When SWMBO did serious kerbing to previous car I made her live with it, despite her requests for a refurb, until just before it was due to be returned at the end of the lease.
Had the current one for about a year now and no damage yet!

Apparently she lost control on a bend!

She said maybe we should swap the car for an old banger

I had these fitted when I had the winter tyres put on. They look a little 'blingy' but do prevent minor scrapes. Crap name - Alloygators
