Just got a quote from mercedes for a 4 wheels alignement, 164 pounds, all included I was told.
Farmers are doing it for 50 pounds, anyone as its wheels done with farmers?
Cheers.

Not sure but I asked for a 4 wheels alignment and this is what farmers said. :dk:

To me it sounds as if they will only check the toe.

edit: I'm not saying MB at £164 is a good deal and certainly I'd look elsewhere than MB for such work too.

What is the toe?
I wish I was near wheel on motion, this sound like a good work they do.

Oh, no the tracking only is 26 quid, the 4 wheels 50, but I don't know what and how its done?

If you want proper tracking done by a specialist who knows what he's doing go to Wheels in Motion. look them up on google, the technician there clearly knows what he's doing.

This is what I think. I'll go to them now and asked to be sure if its a tri dimentional thingy :)

Also, if they use a "hunter" system, they will issue you with a printout something like this:

None of that flashlight and lines on a ruler thing that JustTyres does...

I had a 4 wheel alignment at Farmers on Queensferry road a couple of years ago and it was £50 then. Seemed to do an ok job and the car felt better afterwards, though I suspect the machine they use isn't the best, though I'm no expert.

Oddly enough, I've just booked mine it a CLCM in Edinburgh out at Sighthill for all wheels balanced and a full wheel alignment. I checked the guy out and he seems to have a very good reputation (he used to do Ferrari/Maserati/Porsche from Glenvargaril?) He quoted me £58 (or thereabouts) for the alignment and £5 a wheel for balancing inc VAT. Said he uses a better machine than Farmers and can compensate for a not full fuel tank.

It's in on Thursday PM if you want to wait for an update?

THis is where I was going in queensferry. Please let me know how you got on? Thank you.

No worries, will let you know what CLCM are like. If you were heading to Farmers you could have stopped by for a cup of tea, I'm two minutes walk away!

Thanks for the offer but I'll wait for you alignment and see how you got on then I probably will drop farmers. But another time I love it. Cheers.

£164 seems reasonable, last time i got 4 wheel alignment i paid £150 at "the aligment centre" the car has never driven so straight, money well spent for me.

I pay £120 at my local garage... it gets my W202 on the hunter for about 30/40 minutes while they play with it, and a cute printout telling me exactly what was wrong...

Oh, and they're friendly as well..

That said, I do believe the price depends on the car as on some cars you can't play with the rear suspension...

Dont forget that just the check the special bolts are extra, wim charged me approx £135 incl 2 front bolts and wifes cardone at elite essex £70 for check then 2 bolts on top £145 ish.

Update..

CLCM called me at lunchtime to say he couldn't fit me in this afternoon, though he was very apologetic about it. Going in on Tuesday morning now.
