55 Gearbox

Hi,

I have an issue with my Gearbox in CLS 55

Slips into neutral after few 100metres. Error codes as following:

P220A
P2560
P2561
P2562

Been diagnosed as a gearbox, will need a new box (or rebuild). I have had rough quote of 3k. Does anyone know of anywhere i can find used one? (i have tried Ebay) and correct model are rare to find or place where i can get mine rebuilt for somewhat cheaper!!!

Any help would be appreciated. I think i need 722.643 box.

Where in London are you ?
Who/What company diagnosed the gearbox ?
What were they doing for £3k to fix it ?

I am actually in Milton keynes now

Its a reputable firm local to me. They said 3k +vat for full rebuild of box (including removal/fitting/service/oil etc)

It's a bit of an old thread but if this car has a 722.6 transmission I doubt very much that it needs replacing , just a service and a bit of TLC.

Classic fluid level issue. They're very fussy, needs mb specialist to check before chucking money about
