560SEC Running Cool?

1990 560 SEC
Unless I'm stuck in traffic, my 560 SEC never gets over 60 degrees, and the heating isn't up to much. I've been told it should run at more like 80 degrees - does this sound about right?

I've been told the thermostat should be changed - is this good advice. how easy is this, and what is the right thermostat - I've seen ones advertised for 80 -92 degrees all allegedly for a 560.

Are there any manuals to help? I don't think Haynes does a manual for the W126.

Thermostat, 10 minutes to change, costs under a tenner.

SHould rest a shade abvove 80'C while driving, can creep up near the 100'C mark if stuck in traffic.

60'C is definately running too cool.

Thanks very much for the confirmation - local garage will sort out this week when the car goes for its MOT

Thermostat changed (and passed its MOT!!) - temperature now sits at 80 degrees. Unbelievable difference to the effectiveness of the heater - feels like there is a log fire under the dash now. Someone told me I might also get another couple of mpg - fingers crossed. Thanks very much for the advice.
