6310i

Having just bought the car (W211), I was pleased to find it had a kit in it for the nokia 6210/6310/6310i type of handset. Being in telecoms I just so happen to have a 6310i which I use for work, dated yes but it's solid, reliable and the battery lasts forever. But, I've got an intermittant problem with it, it will connect and I can use it just fine but then if I take it out of the car, next time I get back in and plug it in, I can only get it to register again if I pull the fuse in the boot for the control unit.

So it's not dirty connectors on the cradle, but seems to be more like an issue with the core system.

Any ideas ?

Got the latest frimware on the 6310i?

Just had a look and it's Version 5.5 not sure if you can still get them upgraded now they're obselete but you could be onto something. I've had a goolgle and it seems they went upto V7 or such like but it was for bluetooth security issues rather than operational issues. I'll check with the guys at T-Mob on Monday to see what they know.

Find your local Nokia service centre on Nokias wensite and take it to them. They will do it.
