I'm sure this has been covered several times before... But doesn't hurt to get new fresh opinions.
My E240 auto definetly seems to use less fuel when I leave the auto box in 'W' mode. But I've read so many differant threads saying it's bad for the box to constantly drive in 'W', you get around 20% less economy etc.
I hardly ever floor the thing, apart from on a small dual carriage way section on the way to work, where theres usually is an annoying Micra up my a**e trying his best to keep up... Mostly its start stop traffic or a steady 40 mph for 30 mins.
Anyone else got views on the W or S modes and their opinions on what best?
