98sprinter diesel pump timing

can any one tell me how to re-time my diesel fuel pump on my spinter its a P reg(98) with a 903 engine. my timing chains snapped and i have replaced the whole head but need to re-time the fuel pump. can anyone please help.

I take it this is the 2.9, 5 pot engine.
In the side of the pump body towards the rear is a screwed in plug. It's actually the governor body so is the larger circular section.

Remove the plug and turn the pump until the pointer is facing the centre of the hole. You can buy a locking tool to hold the pointer in position whilst mounting the pump.
Set the engine timing to 25deg.ATDC as viewed through the timing plate on the front of the engine case and mount the pump to the engine.

This should be correct but could be checked afterwards either with a static timing light through the plug or a dynamic light from no1 injector pipe.

I just checked the timing and 14 deg ATDC should be correct.
