Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had these codes on there A Class A200cdi

Its an Automatic on a 14 Plate, just done over 32,000 miles

P2463 - Content of Soot in the Particle emission filter: Implausible
P0299 - Relative Boost pressure exceed upper limit
P200A - Boost control valve, Bank 1; Range/Performance
P2453 - The Input for differential pressure sensor 1 in the diesel particulate filter.

Many Thanks for any info...

Your car will have a differential presure sensor unit connected by two flexible tubes to both ends off the DPF. It measures the pressure drop across the DPF as an indicator of how choked up the DPF is. The sensor itself can go wrong or the tubes can get blocked. Not sure about the other fault which seems to be related to the turbo boost. When you see two unrelated faults they may share a common voltage supply problem. First thing after taking note of the faults is to cancel them [ they may be historic rather than current] and see if they come back.
When searching online for further info always usefull to determine exactly which engine no your car has. e.g. OM 651 If its shared by other models you may find an answer there also.

Cool, I'll call the garage to check the tubes, then replace the sensor if needed. (Fingers crossed)

Many thanks for your advice

I've had Merx in Stoke run a Forced Regen, its cleared the P0299 & P200A Fault codes.

Just P2463 & P2453 are active. They said it went from 402% Full to just over 100% full.

Its creating a whistling/hissing noise from the exhaust. (If this makes any sense)

Just updating.

I’ve had a Mercedes Stafford main dealer spend an hour looking at my car today. (They said it seems like the turbo is just dumping all the air into the exhaust) which doesn’t make sense. It’s isn’t actually smoking one bit. Or using anymore fuel than normal.

They seem to think the actuator on the turbo is stuck open. (They want to spend another 4hrs pressurising the system, checking for leaks) quarted roughly £600 for this.

Had anyone had similar issues?

What’s annoying the cars only done 33,000 miles.

Many Thanks for the Info.

Looking at the info, there's a High Pressure and Low Pressure Actuator, just to add to the confusion.

Does anyone know who'll do a Smoke / Boost Leak test. In Stoke on Trent or Staffordshire area?
