Nice Astra

A Class circa £25K

Astra on a 64 plate from Arnold Shark £13k About 6k off, it says.

W168 was (and still is), a rather unique, unmistakable shape; W169 was a bit Honda Jazz-ish; W176 is just Astra ...

Mercedes is preparing a minor facelift for the A-Class and a new report is indicating we can expect a higher performance A45 AMG as a result.
While the model was recently outgunned by the Audi RS3 Sportback - which has a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that develops 367 PS (362 bhp / 270 kW) and 465 Nm (342 lb-ft) of torque - Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers recently confirmed the facelifted A45 AMG will be introduced this fall and "be the most powerful again".
The executive declined to go into specifics but Autocar is reporting the output could climb to approximately 380 PS (375 bhp / 280 kW). If this number pans out, the hatchback could accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
Besides the upgraded engine, the A45 AMG is expected to gain a unique grille which will further differentiate it from other sporty A-Class variants.

Well if we are splitting hairs???

In April 2007 Kia opened its first plant in Europe, at the initial cost of €1b, in Žilina, Slovakia, about 200 kilometres north-east of Bratislava, with initial production concentrating around the Kia Cee'd model, designed exclusively for the European market. The eventual capacity of the plant is 300,000 units per year. It is one of the few auto factories in the world that is capable of building up to eight different models on the same line, and build ratios can be tweaked to suit demand.

Much like that "German Manufacturer" Mercedes builds the part Renault designed A Class in Rastatt Germany--- Kecskemét Hungary or here [pictured] Uusikaupunki Finland

On that basis I reckon the CEED and A class both qualify for the sobriquet - eurobox :dk:

ps I am somewhat curious as to to where the RHD UK A class cars are made? I would hope Rastatt??? but it would be interesting if some of the A class forum members could enlighten us?

it just doesn't do it for me. I would take the Golf, A3 or 1 series over it.

Surprised no one has mentioned the poor paint job on the front door. Even the Mercedes factory cant blend 'silver' properly.

Thats annoying Our her new A class is to be collected in about 3 weeks.

We've got a mk6 Golf and the A class is just better inside.

If I'm honest the Golf rides a touch better but the last two cars have been VW both Golfs, both DSG boxes have failed twice while we owned them.
So until VW regain my trust we're off!
The Astra comments LOL just no... they are awful the last decent one was a mk4 1.6 16v. and before that my Mk2 SRi
(We've owned Mk 1,2,3,4,5 Astra's)

Conversely my trusty CLK 320 has let me down once in 10 years and 70k miles thats not even meant to be a proper Mercedes...
...And if I'm 100% honest I could hear the water pump complaining for a while so it did tell me and was gracious enough to take me home under its own power.
