A couple of S211 questions...

Trying to find the S211 320 CDi 7 seater with the specification I want is turning into a twilight zone :(

However, I have found a car with 95% of what I'm after and the other 5% it's missing are parking sensors.

So what I would like to know is how much would it cost for a very good aftermarket conversion?

Also, is it technically possible to install the rear bench seats where there are none? I only ask because I have seen plenty of S211s that I want but they are missing the 7 seats...

Hello

The S211 has the parking sensors in the lower trim of the bumper so you maybe able to buy this pre drilled with holes.

If you just want rear ones (which should do?) then I fitted a two sensor kit to my previous ML and in the 3 years I owned it they worked a treat.

Almost OEM and £30 for the kit in silver (almost perfect match). The orginal sensors on the car are a LOT more than that per sensor.

You could also consider the no hole system whereby a stripe is fitted inside the bumper.

My previous system...

Looks like it has the 5% :)

They are not in the same place as the W211 you may have :)

Sorted !!

Looks like mine before I blinged the wheels...

It actually says in the advert 'parking sensors' but I couldn't see the off/on button near to the gear lever

I cannot see it either...

Given it hasn't got front ones it may already have an aftermarket kit fitted?

No problem if the work ok? If it has them the rear visual screen is above the rear headrests as your looking behind.

Either way fitting them would not be a deal breaker as its an easy fit.

Command, 7 seats, electric seats, those bit much harder to 'fit'

Did you have your suspension lowered too? I also have 18s, but my front wheels are no where near as close to the arches as yours! Nice look! :)

Mines not lowered, just avant-garde spec and an early one... Maybe the springs were smaller then :)

The wheels do seem to fill the arches nice though quite a rate option in the Mercedes accessory brochure :)

Interesting, mine is avantgarde too, but seems to sit higher, although at the back the wheels fill the arches very nicely :)

Can't understand why 16s were the standard wheels for this car - waaaay to small in my opinion!

^ I know what you mean

However my dad who original collected the car from Germany loved the ride... He does a lot more miles than me mind.

For my 5K a year I would rather have the looks and too be honest its got quite soft suspension anyway so its pretty good :)

Couldn't agree more!! I do about 5K in the 211 also and I can sacrifice a slightly smoother ride for the better look! :) :thumb:
