A great service thats well done !

I hope I am not going to get into trouble from the Mods for this.. Please do move it if its posted in the wrong section….
This is just a pat on the back and some old fashioned praise for a job well done.
I decided some time ago that I would not be paying main Dealer prices for servicing any more..
So first thing this morning I took my car (C270 CDI) for a “B” service at Ian B Walkers place in Kirkham. He also changed the ATF and filter.
As I am sure most will know Ian is a member on this forum.
I was very impressed with his professionalism and also please to be allowed to watch the process.
He even multitasked and made me 2 coffees whilst waiting for the various fluids to drain.
A big plus for me is Ian’s friendly manner and also the way he seems to take a genuine pride in his workmanship. It’s definitely more than just a job to him. I am always interested in things mechanical and Ian encouraged me to watch and learn.
Lastly I was particularly pleased with the fact that he was totally OK about me supplying my own Engine oil.. I am sure you know what it’s like when it comes to oils. We all have our preferences as I am sure you know !! Lol.

One (of the many) things I like about this forum is that there are sooo many local people to me..
Yes 2 coffees and he trusted me to drive off without paying whilst I went to "get the auto box good and warm" so he could do a final fluid check.
He is definately a guy who instills confidence.. I am very particular about who does what to my car.. I have no hesitation in recommending Ian.

Diesel smell in car?? I had that on the A170. Turned out to be broken injector seal. It was a right pain to remove.
