Went to halfrauds and bought myself a little tool chest with 200 odd (no doubt cheap) tools to have a little go at sorting my idling issues (Thread). Still lots of things to try (and re-reading of the thread!!) in the coming week, but whilst i was out there in the sun I thought Id sort out a few other things...
1. Fitted my Wooden Ebay Gear knob :bannana: Looks great, and is a surprising good match for the wood around it.

2. Routed my new Kenwood Head units IPOD cable into the glove box to make it all nice and neat in the car again.:D

3. Scraped 18 years of dust and dirt from under the wheel arches  , I still need to get a scrubbing brush/scourer to them before I put some waxoil on, a job for this summer. :)

I really enjoyed my first attempt at tinkering with the engine, and wouldnt have dared without much helpfull direction from Malcom, Dieselman, Brian and many others here who have posted!

Cheers Guys!

When I started out, my first car was a side valve Morris 8.
any thing more simple there could not have been. So as the valves were on the side you could slip the head off with nothing in the way and pick it up with one hand. That was 1952. For me I was lucky as we had the room at home and good mechanics where I fixed their TV's.
Very soon you will get a feel of the way its fixed together, and you will progress from there, and it is a joy, well for me anyway, as you are willing to have a go, and you have a good dad that can guide you in practice. The thread will hopefully encourage others to have a go.

You will get there, and its a pleasure as you are always so thankful and polite:):)

I cleaned my crashed bike today (amazing what you can do with strong chemicals :D).. and tucked it up waiting for the insurance assessor to pick it up.

The CE is in a garage hopefully having its cooling issues sorted... workload, weather and impending holiday meant I didn't fancy tackling it on the driveway - good for you for rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in.

I challenge you to use all 200 tools :D.

For sure I wont use them all, but my 10 year old son will! not for their intended purpose of course, but he'll have the lot out of the box to make some weird contraption or other:)
