A Trio of Car Washes

I spent all day yesterday giving our main cars a wash. The ML and Shogun were recently serviced and MOT'd, the latter cost me £200 to get through but the ML received a clean bill of health. They all needed a clean so I did my CL at the end of the day too, perfect weather now it's cooled down.

I've said it before but this stuff is bloody great. £10 a bottle, it works as a sealant on paint/glass, it removes water marks and you can apply it wet. I've noticed although it doesn't bead like similar products but it does sheet water and partially self clean with a heavy downpour.

Interior got a vacuum and a wipe down with Chemical Guys Inner Clean

Then onto the old Shogun. 20 years old next year but looks alright, it's got some marks on it but it should it's that kind of car haha

I didn't actually take any pics of the CL once it was cleaned but I loved how the previous layer of Seal N Shine was doing it's thing even before I started.

I did clean the engine bay though and took a pic.

And today I'm resting as I'm bloody knackered! haha

Try their 'Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating’ range. Even better than S&S. (I have both). I want to get a bottle of their newer graphene version but the TW products are so economical that my S&S and HSCSC bottles are still about 3/4 full and with the low usage of my car and how well these products last it is going to take years to finish them.

I’m waiting for the hosepipe ban here to be lifted so that I can give mine wash and a TW topup.

I keep meaning to try their Ceramic range but not got round to it yet. The SnS is just so easy, I just spray on the car before it's dried and go from there. I can imagine the ceramic and graphene products probably last longer as a last stage product though.

Fortunately we've had no hosepipe ban here so been washing the cars as I normally do!

Phew! Alex that was a Marathon car wash, they ain't exactly small cars either, looking good though.

To say I was tired the next day would be playing it down a bit haha. I was bloody knackered.

Thing is I try to stay on top of cleaning them so it's never a massive clean up job. Inside the ML and Shogun is a quick vacuum and wipe the plastics down. Outside wasn't awful so if I crack on I can get each one done in 2 hours. Then the CL hadn't been driven so again a nice basic wash on the outside and wipe inside.

It takes me 15 minutes or so to get all the gear out and ready so I may as well do two at a time at least.

It's when I get moaned at by the Mrs for spending 7 hours outside, but then she can't moan as her car is all clean! lol

is this the kind of product that you spray on and rinse?
I used a TW one but it was in a blue bottle and not sure if its the same product but theyve changed the packaging
Left streaks all over the car which can only be seen in artificial lighting.

Depends on the product. Their newest Graphene based product (flex) can be applied 3 ways and spray and rinse is one possibility. The Hybrid Ceramic product I’m using goes onto a dry car - but it is very easy to apply and does really last well.

This particular product you can apply to a dry car like a quick detailer or you can spray on a wet car and then simply dry with a towel.

I've found the best thing with this is to apply a layer to a dry car, then next time you wash just spray on to it wet and dry as normal. The only issue you have to consider is the product curing on the drying towel and affecting their absorbency. So I put the towels directly in water when they're used and then straight in the washing machine.

Some products like the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic and Gyeon Wetcoat can be sprayed on and immediately rinsed. I like the this stuff as it's cheap and really flexible.

I've found the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic can leave streaks as it's a very thick product but not this Seal N Shine. It claims you can use it in direct sun and I believe it as it's almost colourless and never leaves a mark behind.

Hopefully you like it mate. I applied a couple of layers to my CL dry and then just give it a spray over before I dry it after a wash.

On my Shogun, I literally apply it when it's wet and then dry the bodywork. This was the beading/sheeting with the rain this morning so it does a decent job.

Also, if the car is dusty and you get a heavy downpour, it'll helps the dust wash off.
