Hi

After some advice please. Our A150 has gradually started making a clunking noise at the passenger side rear. It almost sounds like something loose in the boot but nothing is there. Bizzarely the noise only happens after the car has been stood for a while ie overnight. After driving a few yards the noise goes (it is more noticeable over uneven surfaces). Recently I think I can hear a slight clunking over uneven surfaces but this may be my imagination. Any ideas what this could be it seems strange that it goes away and only happens after the car has stood. Any advise greatly appreciated. The car is a 57 plate with 30k miles which we have had from new.

Regards

Broken spring?

Not that obvious to spot and they tend to break right at the bottom end.....you may be able to spot a slight tilt to the car?

The other problem I had was a tired shock absorber.....

More likely to be spring.

Thanks for the reply. If it was the spring would it not tend to make the noise all the time rather than only after it had been stood? I wondered more about the shock absorder but will check the spring. It is the shock absorber is it easy to replace??

Many Thanks

Ivan
