A160 2001 - Bonnet Release not working

Pull the red handle and nothing. I can sort of reach under and feel cable still attached but its not tight by any means.

Assuming its either snapped or come loose at the far end?

Any ideas for:-

1. Getting bonnet open temporarily.
2. Fixing this.

Grab the cable under the dash with some locking grips and pull.

You might need a new handle , the mountings can break.

Best thing is to get in the footwell , drop the panel and have a look. It's not hard to work under there , there is lots of room.

Pull the handle and bonnet at the same time. |Lube the bonnet catch too.

Ah. Tried pulling the cable as discussed - not going anywhere. Going to try pulling bonnet too.

Ah. Tried pulling the cable as discussed - not going anywhere. Going to try pulling bonnet too.

You will need to do both at the same time, once opened you can see the cable through the latch, soak it in wd40 and make sure it springs back whilst pulling the release.
