Hi All,
Does anyone know how much a boot lock costs to replace and where I can get one from? I also need to know how to get my boot opened as it's locked or jammed tight. I have a keyfob only so no access to an external key. When I press the keyfob I can hear the car unlock but the boot wont open at all. Any ideas on how to open it would be greatly appreciated.

I also wouldn't mind a ball park guess at how much it would cost to fix so I don't get messed around by a garage.

Thanks everyone.

There is probably a key blade built into your key fob.

Some have a little serrated ‘slider’ on the top of the key, slide it over and you can pull it out.

You may need to squirt some wd40 into the keyhole on the bootlid, wiggle key side to side, lots of wd40, and it may free up -at least you can open manually then.

There could be something in boot got trapped in lock when last closed,
Try dropping back seat, and having a look at lock area - push from within, as someone tries to open from outside?

After that it’s removing the hatch interior panel to fiddle with the gubbins (pretty sure that’s the correct tech term for it:))

PS what year A-Class, in case anyone has relevant info.

Do you know of a good indie in your area in case it’s beyond your spannering skills?

Thank you for your reply. I'll try all your suggestions and let you know. It's a 2012 A160. My back window was smashed recently and when I replaced the window, autoglass man said he couldn't get the small bits of glass out, so I am wondering if a piece of glass has fallen into the locking piece. Not even sure if that's possible, but it might explain the issue.

I also had an issue of it not closing before this and I fixed that with WD40. That worked for a couple of months before it just jammed shut.

I'll try the key and see if I can jig it open. Failing all of that I do have an indie I can use. Just worried about the cost!

Thank you again for your help :-)
