A210 starting problem

My recently acquired 21o evo has an intermittent starting problem,on occasions the only dash light will be the SRS and it will not start,go back later and after turning the key a short delay then it starts,is this a common fault?

Most likely to be the starter motor.

Is a 4 hour job and a little awkward.

Oh I see.

Just re-read your post and it makes better sense now. You may have a ignition switch problem instead. A-class ignition switches are normally bullet proof.
