If my consumer battery dross to 12.4v then I get warning messages, usually about abs malfunction, once the engine has run for a while and voltage is back up then message goes. My car starts on a different battery than the consumer so it doesn't matter how low the consumer battery gets the car will still start.

Hmm... so does it mean its likely my battery needs to be changed...?

If you have a consumer battery then you could try charging it with a decent charger for a day or so then try the car, what harm could it do?

Hi Guys, any update on this. I have the same issue on a c220 cdi 2012 showing diagnostic code u140a. Anybody any ideas?

*—Update—*

So yesterday I charged the battery with my 2 Amp smart charger. Which it kept charging for 18 hours untill I unplugged it myself. After putting the battery in I had the same warning lights shown on the dash.
So I took it to MB specialists Bridgend where they run the diagnostic and found out that one of the speed sensor was faulty. So they replaced both front ones and problem solved [emoji3].
Drove for 3 hours afterwards with no issues.
It cost me 263 Quids for above.

Thank u very much guys for guidance and advises. Really appreciate it.

Cheers mate, hopefully just a sensor then.

Yea likely it is the sensor.
I am new to Merc and this forum so cant tell about diagnostics code u mentioned. I think if you google it with brand of diagnostics used to read the code, you may get more info on the cause.
All the best with repair I hope it will be something minor [emoji106]

I changed my wheel speed sensor, cost of sensor £28, took 30mins, hardest part was jacking car up and taking wheel off, I then needed to remove fault codes and warning lights on dash, bought an Icarsoft scanner I980 £90.

Hi Guys

I am new to MB club and am facing a big problem

I bought a used C220 2012 model (W204) 2 months ago(no warranty). It was running fine untill two weeks ago when I drove to Birmingham, 160 Miles from Wales, parked n a street, next day found out two far sided tyres were flat. Probably some street resident wasnt happy with my parking.....
I took my car to tyre shop which was luckily 100 yards from the incident and ended up changing all 4 tyres because they were near the legal limit anyway. On my questioning He reassured me that they have balanced the tyre pressures according to MB recomendations. But also advised me to get trecking done as front tyres were worn off unevenly. So i took my car to QuickFit where they did Trecking and I headed back to Wales.

After driving almost 30 miles I started having warnings on centre console, Run Flat Inoperative, ABS ESP inoperative. Cruise control and HOLD and Hill start wasnt working either. all the warnings used to go away on switching the engine off but come back again after 5-10 minutes of driving.
I took the car to local garage who checked the tyre pressures to start with and found the two tyres had pressure of 40 and two 36 :p Anyhow He kindly balanced the pressures in all tyres, reset run flat sensor and advised me to drive the car and return if problem persists.
Te next day all warnings were back again and almost every time I drive since then.
Today I was driving back from work when I noticed before these warning lights appeared I was feeling fluttering sensation in brake while pressing the brake car was jerking and there were strange squirting sounds coming from front of the car and then all warning lights appeared and at the same time brake became smoother.

I am really worried whats going on... it all started from flat tyres and now I dont feel safe driving my car.
I need some guidance where and how should I get it sorted and any idea how much will it cost?
Why all problems coming at once?
What was that horrible fluttery sensation on applying brake and associated noises?
Why my milage is now 2/3rd it used to be when all was working fine?

Please guide and I will be very grateful

Hi All, I have a Mercedes C220 W204 and had all sorts of error messages coming up, including before I turned on the ignition, driver assist malfunctioning, airbag malfunction and when turning on ignition, ABS malfunction, radio not working air con not working wipers not working. Friend put his computer on it and said a communication error and wheel sensor. I read this forum and several more and decided to change the brake light switch. Much to my amazement, it has cured the problem. Not at first though. I turned on ignition and error messages still there and even after a few tries. Left it an hour and tried again and messages gone and been ok for two day snow, so fingers crossed. Thanks to everyone who didnt even know they had helped me, but sadly, this is my first Merc and I am amazed that anyone can design something so stupidly. I like the car, but.....and will keep it, but who can design something that a brake light switch can stop the power steering, wipers and all the other things I have listed. Crazy or what! But thanks
