My Adblue level display indicated that I had just under half a tank of Adblue left and a range of 2600 miles. As I plan to do a few livery long trips in the near future I added 10l of Adblue that should bring the tank to just above 3/4 full ( capacity is 24l). Topping up done and the Adblue display now shows a bar just over 3/4 of a tank however the remaining range still shows 2600 miles. Did a 160 mile trip on Sunday car ticking and hot when parked up so regen seems to be working. Shorter trip today and regen seems to have finished as no ticking/ smell Adblue bar graph seems to have gone down a little but no change to range figure. Does the range figure only reset with a few more regents? Does it reset when tank filled to top? Does range reset when service reset on hidden menu used? Car has had the emissions update and no problems following it. Don’t want to pay for dealer to do a scan of the car will sort itself out. Any ideas or will all come ok after full service and reset?

My experience when I personally filled it up once, was the tank indicator should change immediately, and reflect the amount put into the tank.

As I said I only did this once, so I am hoping my recollection is correct, as I did pay attention to the level afterwards.

Thanks for your feed back. The bar graph did show the increased level of Adblue but the range figures remain the same. Tried looking in the handbook and on the COMAND in car hand book but both only say how to fill up. The range left seems stuck at 2,600 so should not get to the “ car will not start in XXX miles.”.

Sorry can recollect if the range figure changed. Someone will be along to answer that.

Sorry just re read your post, and it hasn’t even increased the mileage count after you filled up, that may not be normal.

I have now done over 1K since the top up. The bar showing Adblue level is falling as the car regens but the numerical countdown still shows 2600 miles as it did prior to top up. Seems a bit odd. Looks like the level sensor is working but the computer still says the old level of miles. If I do not top up but keep using the Adblue it may then get to a point where there is only 2600 miles with of Adblue and then the countdown will resume. I will have a service before that happens and as part of the service + plan the tank will be topped up. Hopefully the resetting of the service countdown will reset all. Not going to mention the countdown when I take it in as the dealers will read fault codes and update the car as part of the service. If it returns with no change in the miles remaining I know a full Adblue tank does 7700 miles so I have time to think about my next move.

Update: Car went in for service yesterday. Dealer topped up Adblue as part of service. Adblue reading now shows full tank and 7,000 mile range. Not sure if filling the tank to the top resets the range reading or if resetting the service countdown in the hidden service menu resets the Adblue and days to next service counter. Goon news for me as it looks like my Adblue system is ok at present.
