ADBLUE warning -Engine won’t start in …. Miles

So... Turned out the pump needed replacement. However, I've opted for the less expensive alternative of removing the system.
No Nox sensor issue to worry about add blue fill-ups or tank replacements!!
Messages gone... Happy days!
What you have done is, in the UK, illegal and you are adding to the overall pollution burden.

See here :

I quote from the above Website

"MAS AdBlue removal services

Our professional AdBlue removal service is for vehicles that are intended for off-road use only. In fact, AdBlue removal in UK vehicles means that driving the car, van or truck on public roads is illegal and could result in prosecution."
"

I see that the OP has not reappeared to comment on the fact that he has rendered his vehicle illegal for use on UK roads and greatly increased its output of pollutants.

As long as he is happy that he has saved a few of his pennies all is well.

He may well need them of course when the MOT is due and he has to reinstate a working adblu system 🤔

Which MB Independent did you use?

I guess the OP won't name on a public forum a business that (allegedly) carries-out illegal mods. Which is a pity, because I was looking for recommendations for places to get the DPF gutted, LED conversations fitted, and video-in-motion configured

(The front side windows tint film and the mis-spaced plates will come later)

Apparently MOTs not a prob as assured so.
Wouldn't want to share details on open forum 👍

As all these systems are failing and made of plastic in China.... I'm happy.with decision.Always.use good quality fuel and have a Diesel as I do v high milage.
Thanks for your concern.

It's 'not a problem' in the sense that the MOT tester wont detect it, perhaps in the same way that they can't see the inside of a gutted DPF. Or like badly-corroded brake lines or structural rust that 'isn't a problem' either, as long as it's in areas that the MOT tester can't see (as they are not allowed to remove any undertrays). So in all liklihood the car will get a Pass.

But just to be clear: it's still an MOT fail (if detected). Additionally, given that you obviously can't declare the illegal mod to your insurer, it is also potentially uninsured. So technically the car is now both illegal and unroadworthy in more ways than one.

Where I do agree with you, is that on a practical level the chances of getting caught are probably very small, given that at current neither MOT testers nor insurance companies have any way of identifying these modifications without further scrutinising the car, which isn't done routinely.

Just putting the facts out there.

Arrogant and ignorant

The country of origin is hardly relevant

The quality of the fuel is irrelevant. The car is still producing more pollution than it should.

Apparently. .

So you have no idea.

All you wanted to achieve was a cheap fix to keep your car running.

No matter how you try to excuse your actions they are selfish and antisocial but clearly saving money is more important than any sense is social responsibility.

Another idiot for the ignore list.

MB (and the other manufacturers) could help if they were to make the maintenance of these emission control systems affordable. Then there would be no incentive for anyone to go to the trouble (and expense) of removing them. I can not see why a sensor or a simple fluid tank with a sensor, made in huge volumes, should cost hundreds of pounds. Imho it is greed and profiteering by the car companies who think that the owners "have no choice" but to cough up - well guess what the owners are working out that they do have a choice.
And as the cars get older it will happen more and more, I also think that they will get away with it.
