Hi again folks,

I have sorted out the banging noise from the rear end when it shifted.
The subframe mount on the drivers side nearest the door had disappeared!

The shift from 2>3 and 3>4 is quite aggressive while under load, if you ease of the throttle its smooth.
I have removed and cleaned the vacuum device (forgotten the name) under the inlet manifold, Scribed before removal.
I have read that adjusting the position will alter the shift flare.
Which way should I turn it and by how much?

Many thanks BP

Before making any adjustments check the vacuum is actually good and the capsule on the gearbox is working.

They say also before doing anything to replace the fluid and filter with the proper MB stuff. Could solve all your problems right there!

Then we can do some adjustment on modulating pressure, but only then IMHO.

Haven't been on here for a while, just thought I'd close this thread.
The part of the body where the rear subframe bolts up to on the drivers side had corroded away. Repaired and was actually a very smooth heat change.

Regards.
