I have noticed a few people have had trouble with MB and Alpine stereos.
I was going to buy the new alpine cda-9853r for my bf but im not sure if its a good idea now.

What do you think? Are they really that bad when it comes to puting them in a merc?

Thanks x

Its not a Merc thing its an Alpine thing. :D

Its not difficult the only thing is that a lot of the higher end units need a permanent live feed so its not just a matter of plugging in the ISO connector, you need to get the live feed wired in aldo.

Not a big job, but you need to know what you are doing, or know someone who does :D

put an alpine in my 202 no problem.... just get it fitted if in doubt, most indies will do it for beer money.

Its not an Alpine thing it's a Merc thing, Merc don't provide a permanent live feed, beats me why not - high end systems should have anyway, the main issue seems to be low gain aerials from screen mount aerials. Had an Alpine in my A170 for 5 years no troubles, just put the same unit in my C Coupe and am having trouble with radio reception - has to be an aerial thing
