Aerial problem.

I'm having trouble with the extending aerial on my w124, it won't go all the way up when i turn the radio on, and it doesn't fully go back into the body when i turn the radio off.

I've tried oil and wd40, but hasn't worked.

Is this a common problem? Is it an easy fix or a new aerial?

You will need a new mast, something like this... Mercedes Benz Antenna Mast, Mercedes Antenna Mast - Euro Mercedes Parts ...there is a How-To somewhere on how to fit it, very easey to DIY.

If you're handy at diy, take it apart. You'll find the insides are dry of lube,& full of gungy rubbish. Clean it all out, re-lube, re-assemble & connect to a battery to try it. It worked for me.
