air con control unit......

checked resistance on all wires and all seems ok.......

last night, checked resistance on blue/green wire leading to compressor....was ok.

decided to check the voltage on plug going into compressor.....voltage was zero?!?!?!?!?!?!

Looked into the plug and the end of the wire was not touching the contact sheath properly............checked the voltage to the wire.....13.4 volts!

Think i found the problem.................shoved some cable into the plug and pushed it into the compressor, hey presto, working fine:) :) :)

all this time, it was a poor connction in the actual plug for the compressor.............even this morning, it worked fine all the way to work.....

thanks to you all and to glenn for his advise..............owe you a pint mate, next GTG........hopefully, this is sorted now....fingers crossed:)

whos a happy bunny.................

:bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

at least now i can help others with their a/c problems.............:)

There was an earth cable corroded and attached to nothing in my engine bay! Ian Walker fixed it for me... :)

hey Paul, nice to hear you've solved!

hopefully, that was the problem..........i'm happy that its working at the moment................................if it works for the next 4-5 days, then its resolved...

now its a waiting game?!?!?!??!

thanks to all that had input on this thread...........:bannana:

best of all no mbz bill its £300 to open the bonnet and if they get their hands dirty ???£500 and if you need a new widget which costs a few ££££ but 7 hrs to fit ??
well done

Well done Paul. A good bit of traditional fault finding.

Phew! best to get on with some work now, glad you've located it, can't beat a good problem to solve, the harder it is the more satisfying it is!!!!!!

Sensor

This might be your evaporator sensor, this would cause the problems you describe.

A new one is £30 and it is up under the steering shaft inside the car. You will need 4 pairs of hands though.
