Hi friends could someone suggest a way forward which will not be too painfull on my pocket.

2002 w203 evo 220cdi

The red light on my EC button is premanently on, I've had the mobile guy around to recharge the air con but his kit shows the system to be fully charged, (therefore no leaks). The guy couldn't do anymore except to advise me to get the problem looked at by the local dealer umh yeah that would realy hurt my pockets.

So has any other member had such a problem or maybe advise of common faults I could look for

If the system pressure is alright it has to be either the pressure sensor or a control unit fault I think. You need the codes read to decide what is wrong.

Your car uses OBDII so quite possibly most code readers will interrogate this sucessfully.

You could possibly try shorting the pressure switch connections out as a test.

yep get the codes read... it could be an old stored fault that just needs erasing.
