Hey people,

Forgot to say! I went to qwick fit saturday morning and got my air con done for £49.

The guy checked that there wasn't any leaks filled the air con up and now it's perfect!

So for anyone's aircon that is hot wives qwick kit a try they are not bad and they didn't even mention the "brake wear" warning I get on the dash, I was pretty sure they was going to mention it

The gas must have gone somewhere. I expect you do have a minor leak. They condenser is typical.

BlackC55 I thought they wouldnt refill it if there was a leak?
When I had mine done most of the time was the pressure test, are you saying they will refill even if there is a slow leak?

They do a pressure test and if there's a leak they put a dye in the guy that done mine said it was all good so hopefully there wasn't even a minor leak

Aparantly climate control uses more gas than air con does

Isn't it because they do a vacuum test rather than a charged pressure test (most places I think do this) so o rings ect maybe sucked into the joints rather than pushed out? That may explain very minor leaks?

They do a vacuum test as they suck everything out, once the system is empty then they pressurise the system

You should get a printed report from KF showing amount in the system ,that it has passed leak test and amount added.

I got 2 papers back from them ill check it out I was just happy to see my air con working well,

I didn't think they "added" gas I'm pretty sure they vacuum out all the old stuff and fill it up with new stuff

Well you get as much of your old gas back as possible although filtered, dried etc.

Essentially they just hook it up to something like this let it get on with it.
