can any one advice on AirCon on W124 95,its been rainning today and my screen fogged up,i put the air con on and it demissted but as soon as i turned the air con of it started to mist up on the screen is this common fault or just me..:dk:

No fault there if it cleared the screen, air con draws the moisture out of the air,so when you switch it off moisture returns and condensates on the windows.keep it on(recommended) .

It could be due to a blocked drain tube from the evaporator drip tray, or more likely it's because it's raining today and the air is very moist, the moisture is condensing on the cold surfaces of the evaporator and then being blown against the windscreen.

wow.. tecinical it sounds right what you said and thats wat is happening..so where do i find this evaporator drip tray..

It's buried deep behind the central console, a dashboard out job to reach it but don't panic. It's far more likely to be due to the dampness of the air today. If the interior doesn't smell like a musty old dishcloth and the front carpets are dry you're almost certainly OK.

The drain usually exits under the car in the region of the transmission tunnel at the rear of the engine bay. On humid summer days a pool of water often forms under it after a journey. This is all normal and proves the drain isn't blocked.

Seems Mercs do mist up more than other vehicles without the A/C on.

I've had two Mondeo Estates, a Peugeot 406 Estate, 2 Focus Diesels and a Vectra SRi before the E Class and none of them needed the A/C on when it rained.

The E class starts to mist up very quickly once the rain starts if the A/C aint on.

Thats pretty specious reasoning.
