Is there any body can help me with this problem?

I have clamped the heater hot water supply hose of my C200 closed to prevent the heater from working because our wheather is hot all year round. Now the air conditioning is too cold because I cannot control the temperature by the control dial. The air conditioner compressor is on whenever the air conditioner is switched on. When it gets too cold, I have to switch off the air conditioner manually by the fan speed dial. I do not think the fan controller is faulty because it is new. Is there a way to set the temperature so that the compressor automatically cutoff when it gets too cold and engage when it gets warm?

Has this worked at all since you clamped the heater hose?

If you unclamp the heater hose does it work OK again?

Perhaps because there's no hot water circulating, the system assumes you want it to be as cold as possible?

The car controls the temperature by mixing varying amounts of hot and cold air as set by the controls. If it cannot add any hot air, because you have clamped the hose, then you will get just cold air.

Remove the clamp.

Thinking back, both of you are right. Before I clamped the hose, I used to get hot and cold air at the same time at certain setting of the temperature control. That was the reason I clamped the hot water hose in the first place because the air cond was not cold enough. The simple solution is to remove the clamp.

Thanks buddies

Thought the below link may benefit other members who need a new condensor, like me, or other parts. I've had the following quote for my C220 CDI 1999:

"We can offer either a genuine Mercedes condensor for 332,21 Euro or an OEM product, made by BEHR ( # 7401018 ) for 185,43 Euro.

Mail shipping cost would be 24,36 Euro ( about 5 - 7 days ) or 65,08 Euro for UPS express ( 1 - 2 days )

All prices incl. 16% VAT !"
