Have just changed the fuel and air filters, and need to know if my air filter indicator knob is broken or just jammed.
I tried to turn the knob to 'reset' it but it's jammed/stuck in position showing all white on the dial.
Is there a secret to making this knob turn. I tried using pliers padded with cloth and it's stuck fast. It's made of plastic (isn't everything) and I'm sure it will break/snap if I apply any more force to it.
Anyone else had any problems turning this knob back to reset it ??
What's the story...?

............I tried to turn the knob to 'reset' it but it's jammed/stuck in position showing all white on the dial...........

it is supposed to be all white, it only goes red when the filter is soiled. if red is showing the knob can be turned to reset the gauge back to white. white = filter ok, and with white showing the knob cannot be turned at all - so put the pliers down!

Thanks for the heads up... although I forgot to mention... it's never shown red...
Prior to changing the filter the indicator was on white (filter was over 12 months old and in need of changing).... yet still the indicator was all white...
Nevertheless the pliers are back in the drawer, and will wait and see what happens...
Many thanks.

they rarely show red, the filter needs to be really heavily soiled to do so. i think the indicator was really designed for other enviroments such as desert, off road etc.

Interesting Fact!

Mine was red, Until I messed around with realizing its not turning back Was / & am worried a bit myself!

Lets see what happens? & how & if it goes red? But there is no connection bettwen it, I winder How it measures up?
