Hi guys,

Just had the airmatic compressor replaced on my car from a local indy, for the first few days everything was fine, then now when the compressor kicks in it is very noisy and a vibration through the pedals can be felt, the car still rises perfectly however.

When the pump was fitted the garage mentioned that the mounting bracket was corroded and was partially secured with cable ties, they said however that they have fitted a few in this manner and everything was fine, however I now suspect that the pump is noisy and vibrating due to being fitted incorrectly.

Can you guys advise before I approach the garage.

Many Thanks.

You are right in thinking that the pump isn't fitted correctly. I had the pump on my car replaced recently because the bracket on the pump had corroded. The pump itself is suspended on rubber rings. While waiting or a replacement pump the garage used cable ties to hold the pump in place and this temporary fix only lasted a few days.
I would take it back and get it fixed properly.
