Hi All

Following my introduction (just arrived) i thought i would post a couple of pictures of the ride.

I bought the CLK as a replacement for my company car and high on the agenda was reliability with reasonable fuel consumption, i also had a wish list of extras.

I trawled the adds for the right car and thought i had found it in Inverness (i think it is still on ebay) only 28k with one owner, so i booked the easyjet and was due to fly up for a viewing (not much room for negosiations once you have flow one end of the contry to the other to view a car!! the day before the flight another on came up in London (40 mile aways) so i drove straight down there and 24 hours later i was the proud owner of my very first Mercedes WHAT A JOY TO DRIVE

The car had everything i put on my wish list and it's only got 22,000 miles with full MB service history, the guy i bought it off only drove it 543 mile in the last 18 months, the only thing missing was a phone so in the 10 days since i bought it i have already fitted a retro phone loom (purchased from Command online, Mark certainly has my vote for the most helpful person i spoke to when deciding if i should tackle the job myself, and i also bought and a private plate from DVLA, bought it on the Monday it was on the car by Thursday, those boys at DVLA certainly know how to make a profit in a recession.

Anyways hope you like the photos.

.......and yes, the phone works perfectly, 10 hours to fit whole system mainly coz i was checking, double checking and then rechecking before committed to anything, i bet most people could do it in half the time.

Is that salt on your brickwork ?

Hi Bennesspipers

Yer, salt on my brickwork, that's exactly what it is, do you know how i can get rid of it? it's obviously distracting you from the car, can't knock your observations or you attention to detail though.

Oh and while i have you attention any idea why my pictures came out 3 times the size of the posting?

You can hose it off, but I wouldn't worry too much, time will eventually do the trick. Can you turn your last photo round to save my neck?

Brush the thickest off, then scrub (or pressure wash) with a 15% dilution of vinegar in water.

Hi renault12ts

I am obviously very worried about your health so try this, hope the neck gets better soon. also i have been trying the "leave it" method of removing the discolor from the brick work of my garage but it's not working, house is 24 years old and stain hasn't gone, still i could try the "paint the whole house white" method that you went for.

Vinegar does work, unlike your link !

Yer I am pretty crap at this IT lark, anyone tell me how i can attach the photo to the link without using the "insert image" button which only seem to add a link and not a photo.

You know Renault21 I was thinking the same thing, I have joined loads of car clubs over the years, Mini, Jaguar, MG, BMW, VW, i even had a volvo es180 and joined the 180 register, but I can honestly say none of them were more interested in my stained brickwork then the cars I owned.

We all love a little red herring now and then. Welcome to the forum.

Hey, this looks like something i am going to give a go, cheers.

What about the car though!!!! isn't it even worthy of a comment, even a negative one would be fine by me, you know something to work on?

Its a blue Mercedes.
