Got my car back on the road at last. Oh joy again, suddenly the pain is easing

Took the car for a run down to Devon, for the w/end and the trip was a pure pleasure all the way.

But now i have a little dilema which needs to be cured quickly, I hope you can help !

Last nite whilst we were at the Pub, I locked the car but had left the windows slightly open as it was warm, the car was in full view as we sat outside, it statred to get quite windy so I walked over to the car to get my daugters top when the hazard lights started flashing with no siren, i realised that the alarm had gone off but there was no sound. what can this be.

The horn works fine, after several attempts it is still the same any suggetions.

thanks in advance.

Errm, I think you have answered it yourself.

The alarm was set, the windows were slightly open and then it got windy. The interior sensors can be triggered by breezes and changes in temperature. On a Vito van I used to have, it was so sensitive I had to close all the vents to prevent the alarm going off all the time.

On some models there is a button on the dash to switch off the interior sensors and/or the motion sensor.

Yup, in the winter sometimes you need to shut the vents even when the windows are shut to prevent a stormy night setting it off!

Err guys...

Benziman's problem is that his alarm siren is not sounding, not that his alarm goes off when he leaves the windows open.

Err as to a solution I'm afraid I wouldn't know, maybe the wires to the siren have worked loose? or maybe it could be a faulty alarm unit?

I know that on my car the alarm will sound for approx 3 minutes before then going silent leaving the indicators to flash indefinitely and the interior cabin light illuminated. I guess it's a 'don't piss off the natives' feature. Linky

Thanks for your input guys

Car went in to the garage today, they stripped out the alarm , cleaned it out ,checked connections and now fully operational again.
