Alarm reset

Hi Guys, any ideas on how to re-set the alarm/immobilisers on a 1996 C180?

Hi, my wife dropped the key/remote unit which broke open and spewed it's innards all over road. Several attempts to reassemble it failed, so we destroyed the house looking for the spare which we eventually found. The batteries in the spare were flat. After replacing them I attempted to unlock the car. The central locking works but the engine is still immobilised. On the drivers door handle are a red and a green light which flash together when the central locking is engaged. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but still no change.
