ALFAitalia's new Captain Kirk!

From TfL's website:

The ULEZ standards are:

  • Euro 3 for motorcycles, mopeds, motorised tricycles and quadricycles (L category)
  • Euro 4 (NOx) for petrol cars, vans, minibuses and other specialist vehicles
  • Euro 6 (NOx and PM) for diesel cars, vans and minibuses and other specialist vehicles

So is it ULEZ compliant or not?

It definitely is...I checked on the TFL and Gov websites... they dont have to have been built as Euro 6 as long as the NOX output meets Euro 6 spec... which my Euro 5 built E350d does.

Wow, that's interior trim is lovely 😍 I've seen worse exterior kits and thank goodness it's not full chrome panamericana, that would have really made me lose my pepperoni pizza dinner

I do like these, lovely colour too. Must resist opening Autotrader app…
You won’t find any most likely, only about 200 left in the UK, not a fast seller when new, not helped by depreciation that only the Porsche Taycan seems to be able to match and no diesel option, not everyone wants a busso v6.

So they want to charge you £8 to go to Birmingham?

Frankly, they would have to pay me far more than £8 to go there...

....LOL....which is a slight pain as I go there on business a bit......but I wont be footing the bill and I usually go in my 25mpg 2017 pickup....which is ULEZ compliant everywhere. Strange times!!

It might be worth contacting Mercedes about this. My S600 didn't say Euro 4 on the V5, so several (not all) of the charging zones would have charged me. But Mercedes were kind enough to provide me with a letter confirming that my car met the Euro 4 standards, and they even forwarded that to DVLA who then provided me with a new V5. And now a check on the GOV website confirms that I'm not going to be charged anywhere.

I think the different zone authorities use different criteria - some look at the emissions data on the V5 and some look at the classification. By getting my car's classification updated I'm now covered both ways.

[email protected]

I missed a step - it's not Mercedes who arranged the new V5. So for completeness:

1) Write to [email protected] to request a letter/certificate that confirms the Euro status of the vehicle
2) Upload that certificate to https://contact.dvla.gov.uk/caz. DVLA will then update their Clean Air Zone Vehicle Checker database. They will also issue the new V5.

When I did mine, the whole process, from emailing Mercedes to receiving the V5, took a week.

Not quite sure why you need a new V5..... the Euro rating of my car is 5 not 6.....but the NOX and particulate levels are low enough to comply with ULEZ. A few lads on the ALFA forum got their cars changed to ULEZ compliant by TFL after getting the original emissions test info from ALFA and sending them in. A letter was received back saying their cars were OK and the pooters had been updated to avoid charges... .no new V5 was involved.
So basically car is compliant with the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) standards if it has nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions that do not exceed 0.08g/km on the European type approval emissions test (equivalent to Euro 4 petrol or Euro 6 diesel). It's actual Euro build level is irrelevant....but they had to base it on something.....
Loads of older cars on AT that are ULEZ compliant.... many much older than Euro 6 fir derv or Euro 4 for petrol.

Would it be possible for you to check my sisters Merc E350 diesel please. It’s a 2014 reg plate is L10 AFT.
Thanks
