All time low for a CL55??

That is a lot of car.
I would love one, but would be petrified of the bills if something did go wrong.....

I saw that earlier this evening and this set off immediate warning bells:

"If you wish to see the car then you can arrange to do so on 07921 638 260 but can I politely ask that you dont ask an un-ending series of questions about condition, specification etc because I am not a car trader and don't want to spend my time talking to people on the phone!"

You are selling one of the most problematic, troublesome and expensive to fix cars Mercedes ever put on the road.

That screams out that he does not want anyone calling who knows about them but would rather trade off the "AMG" halo.

Bargepole and would not touch come to mind.

It has nothing to do with trader or not, but a simple matter of selling an item and the basic expectation that someone would like to know what they are buying, especially with one of those.

Looks very very tidy.

Maybe the guy wants an easy life without the normal eBay hassles ?

If he was selling a Ford Mondeo, maybe, but what of the mechanics?

It may be cheap to buy but a couple of (common) faults on that car and you could easily reach 70% of the purchase price.

When I was looking at CL's and S classes, you would be amazed at the number of cars that looked great in the ad but were absolute rubbish when you actually got there to have a look and in many instances, where there were blatant lies by the sellers.

"Is the aircon working?" "Yes". Get there and lo and behold, not working.

"Any faults with the car?" "No". Get there and it has an SRS failure!! This from a clown of a timewasting dealer who sells some very expensive cars.

Anyways, to each their own and I hope that it is a good car for the eventual owner.

He does invite potential buyers to view the car. Only a retard would buy this without viewing beforehand.

He also states that he's had a prang whilst reversing it, personally i'd stay well clear, lots of others available. Better to spend a little bit more when buying one than spending loads and loads to repair !

A low priced CL is low for a very good reason. I well maintained CL will be advertised at a price clearly higher than those which have probs but on the same year, spec etc but alot of buyers find out once they have bought the car and realise they cant fix the problems cheaply and flogg it on as quick as possible.

You beat me to it!
Besides putting that it is a ringer, he has put the next worse thing- don't ask unending questions about condition/specification!!!!!:eek::eek:
If he was that bothered about getting hassle, he should have just part/exchanged it, when buying his 'new CL':doh:

agree with the above, if he doesnt want questions... dont put it on ebay! cheeky bugger.

Also if hes owned it for nearly 5 years, he should know a great deal about it !! he should now his ABC off by heart by now !! lol

Car is now relisted on Pistonheads. 4k. Engine headgasket is blown !! I have honestly never come across a CL55 (Normally aspirated) v8 engine that has this failure. Anyhow it was too good to be true as stated in previous posts. Lucky nobody bought it !!

Mercedes : cl55 amg

N/A CL55 M113 engines can be had for under a Grand these days and would go straight in. But, the problem is what else "might" be wrong !
