Am I in the right place?

That's alright, I can take a bit of harassment. The hubby got enough on the Skyline Owners Club when we picked it up. Something about a hairdresser

I wouldn't know what you mean. Mine being yellow and me being a bloke and all. Never had anyone accuse me of being a hairdresser honest.

Welcome to the madhouse. :bannana:

Hi Rica,

I'm a new owner of an SLK as well, 3 months now. This forum has a wealth of information and seems to be a friendly lot also.

Hope you enjoy the car as much as I am enjoying mine.

By the way, silver is an excellent colour for a car.

:D I'm getting used to another silver car.

My hubby actually wanted a yellow one, but I have a mental block for yellow cars. I've seen too many little boys that think they can fast in them.

Remember I know where you live..........

Well I don't really but I could find out.

On a slightly more serious note I have owned my yellow SLK for about 15mths now and in that time I have only seen 1 other yellow SLK, and a yellow CLK.
Would anyone have any figures for how many were sold in that colour or any way I could find out?

Err four....

I've seen two, you own one and so does someone else. :D :D

That's quite enough!!!

Interior is great, as Maff has said Silver is good and so is Obsidion Black. Welcome.

My g/f is pestering me for an SLK at the moment (a 170 as opposed to a 171). I'd love one of the ladies comments on their car, mainly because a friend in the trade yesterday offered me one (a 320) for a silly, silly price. He wants rid of it as he's had it a while.

I'm all ears, girls.

Rica, welcome to the forum. Its been said before, but thats a lovely interior in that car.

All the best,
Greg

:P I have to say a respray isn't tops on my list, but a brabus exhaust is quite tempting!

I'd be very careful what you do the exhaust if I were you. Those Merc cats are very delicate (and exceedingly expensive). Also the engine O2 sensors are liable to throw an engine code at the slightest provocation.

the brabus exhaust on the slk sounds good and looks great - go for it.

Mainman - they are no problem as the brabus stuff is thoroughly tested and warranted.

My local Brabus dealership had a 230k SLK with the K3 kit and brabus wheels, exhaust and suspension. Looked really good.

What do you want to know? Your g/f needs to go and have a drive obviously as what others like and take from a car isn't necessarily what she wants.

But I love Edna to bits. Nice and fast but then I like fast. Lots of power in the rear end which generally holds well but can catch you out if you're not careful  Comfortable and easy to drive. Is the one you have the option on an auto? I love the auto box - a very pleasant surprise coz I expected it to be sloppy but it's not. Can lag a bit from reverse to D but otherwise it's generally OK.

The vario roof makes topless driving a doddle with the only hardwork having to pull the luggage cover over in the boot first then hold the button  then enjoy  The roof will still allow a good use of much of the boot although access when the roof is down is more limited for obvious reasons as the lid of the car is there.

Wear & Tear on mine looks very good atm. Done 18500 miles and she was 2 in July. Still original tyres with plenty of tread. MPG depends on driving style, I get around 25, sometimes less :( Interior all like new.

The nose is long and takes some getting used to as you find yourself parked much closer to whatever is in front than you might have thought.

Boot is an excellent size for a drop top lots of room for shopping. We can get a full family weeks shopping in it.

If there's any more let us know :D

Welcome to the forum. Nice car, great colour and the interior is sweet :D

Thanks for the warning. It will take me a while to work up to the first mod I think, but it's looking like the exhaust so far. I'm spending my money on another tattoo at the minute. I have too many expensive interests. *L*
