AMG 2 Monoblock Tyres

I'm currently running AMG 2 monoblocks on my W124 with 7J ET35 on front with 225/45/17 tyres, and 8.5J ET30 with 245/40/17 tyres at the back.

The rears are sticking out of the arches a bit, so am I right thinking that 235/40's would sort the problem?

Also is the width of the fronts ok?

Ideally, what should be the setup of the tyres on these alloys for a W124?

Thanks

You mean 7.5 et35,if so 225/45 is correct

Erhhmm, from memory I remember they were 7J, although not 100% sure. By the way, the wheels are from a W202, because that's what the part numbers are saying.

What about the rears?

I'm not sure if 235's will stay under the arches, though...

Lately I've been thinking to put the 225's, which are on front, at the back, and then get some 215's for the front.

Any advice?

That`ll be a no mate, but you can still try.The lip might stick out of the tyre, but as said, give it a try

225s are a bit of a stretch on the back. I had them on mine when I bought the car and the lip was left very exposed.

I thought the recommended fitting for a W124 was the 7.5 x17 ET42 AMG Aero 2 Monoblock with 225/45 17 all round. Having different front and rear sizes on a W124 is not really much good unless it is a 500E and having different size front and back restricts your options for things like punctures, tyre life balancing etc.

Who cares about trivial things like punctures and rotating, staggered 17" Aero IIs look awesome on a 124, especially with an AMG kit

I have 215/45F and 225/45R on my C124 but I want to go the opposite direction and get 225/45F and 245/40R, my mechanic has that setup on his cabrio and it looks good, tyres fill out arches nicely without sticking out.

If I had 7.5J all around, then I would put the same tyres on all 4 of them (225/45), but since the rears are 8.5J, they need wider tyres ideally.

I'm hoping 235's for the rear will be good.
