 Hi there I have recently bought a Mercedes 300CE, this is the first Merc i have owned and love it! One of the AMG alloys was badly curbed and has been replaced with a standard Merc alloy. Trying to find the best place to locate a matching alloy, or possibly swap the three good ones for a good set of standard 17" Merc alloys. :wallbash: The tyre size fitted is
235 x 40 x 17. So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated, thanks Matt.

Hi Matt
Any chance of the A prefix part number from the back fo a wheel?
They look a lot like these:
1578-xl.jpg

But the rim bolt recesses are different

They look like replicas to me?

///AMG logo is back to front, and it looks to spell 'AMC' (?) No smaller holes amongst the bolt holes either, odd centre caps etc.

I've never seen genuine AMGs like those (the first ones) before?

Will

You are right.

throw them away. They will be really cheapo nasty made wheels. Very heavy too.

Wow, those are some ugly wheels. When I first looked, I thought they were hubcaps

I think these are the famous AMC wheel makers!

I'd just get a new set of 4 Period AMGs. And sell the 3 as lots of 1 as a spare for people who don't care what is in their boot!

 i have just ben out and looked closer and your right it does say AMC, man do fell an idiot. thats it then a new set of alloys will be needed so if any one is selling any 17'' alloys im in the market

Probably the ugliest wheels shown on here in a long time. Post them on the Barry Boys site. They'll love 'em.

Poor chap. He's just joined up and already getting some serious flack over his alloys.
But the best solution is to buy Howards alloys I feel :)

Yes, I did feel a little guilty at stating a new member's wheels, especially when he was so clearly happy with his car, so sorry to the poster for being blunt.

I couldn't help myself though. They really must be the worst looking wheels I've ever seen.

thanks for the help and i think wemorgan is right. i did manage to find a genuine AMG alloy second hand that matches mine but at £150+vat its a lot because the other three would still be fakes so not worth it. have submited photo its the wheel in the left top, (and try to be nice to the new boy):(

sorry heres the photo

HI Matt, if I was you I'd pick four from that photo (they don't have to match) and you have improved the car 100% :)
Anyway mate, did you get the sun roof shut and the exhaust sorted yet? Catch ya later pal, Andy

The answer to that is yes to the sun roof :)and no to the exhaust:mad:, thats why im coming to your place to sort it out, did you not read the note on my post it said
( BE NICE TO THE NEW BOY)

Pick two the same for one side and a different pair for the other. You will never see the different wheels at the same time. And you can have a different car depending on your view.

love the humour about the alloys , great stuff
