AMG Oil Temperature

It only occurred to me recently that 120 odd degrees is very hot!

The other thing that panicked me was the tailpipes sitting low. They returned once cold though

Yes, I noticed this to. I actually took my baby back to merc a couple of times as my passenger side exhaust kept dropping after a little...... lets say spirited driving :bannana:. It turned out to be a problem with the passenger side exhaust bracket (it dropped and looked really wonky). I have seen this on a couple of Mercedes before so I guess its may be a common problem :dk:.

The exhaust do generally poke a bit more when warm, think this is because everything becomes really hot and expands. Looks kind of evil

Facelift C63s run at 120+ when on track. On a cold day in Silverstone, I got to 127 easily, in Spa was running around 130 on a hot day and had to manage temps. The car goes into limp model at 135, I believe.

There is a cooling package available - can send you the details if you want. Costs around 2.5k in the UK, labour on top of that. Similar to the package installed on the black series, same larger radiators.

ime fitting a bigger oil cooler as part of my conversion paying 2.5k plus labour is a rip off

I saw 129 at Nurburgring last year, I would be interested if anyone has in info on alternative cooling packs.

Saw 130 at Silverstone.

contact Paul at Eurocharged they have fitted a bigger oil cooler to mine

Here is a link to the PL with the official document. AMG Private Lounge

Mods - hope this is allowed. Will edit if not.

Gasman - what cooler did they fit? Was it just an oil cooler or did you install a larger transmission cooler as well? Would be grateful if you could post some info and photos.

Thank you!

larger oil cooler and an transmission cooler is going on its at the workshop at present
give paul a call he will let u know whats involved
plus ive fitted the weistec transmission pan

With the Weistec Transmission pan fitted, highest temp reached in mine is 109 initially on a spirited drive but cools down to 105 within minutes, and stays that way.

Digital oil temp gauge is one of the coolest things about the C63

AMG C63 Package 440 is the upgrade. Large lying transmission cooler and oil cooler in the O/S wheel arch. Also new wing liners and covers. Cost is £1300.00 plus vat plus fitting. I had the whole lot done including new Mobil 1 engine oil and new gearbox oil for £2340 inc vat at Listers Lincoln. On a run at Blyton Park yesterday in Sport mode, highest temp we saw was 126 which, without the cooler would likely have gone over 135 and into C. No issues at all other than the 130 litres we put through the car and still had to leave half hour early as it was empty again!!

Do you have any pics of the differences, especially in the arch liners? Was that a supply price from Listers? seems very reasonable in comparison to others.

Sorry about the delayed response. I don't have any pics as tbh there isn't much to see. The off side front valance has the blanking plate removed which aids the cooling of the wing cooler. The lying cooler is covered by the undertray which has slots for allowing air passage. I have purchased three cars in two years from Listers which gives me a little clout, the actual labour bill was considerably more but reduced due to my considerable patronage. They gave me a box full of bits including coolers and liners etc which I told them to bin as I can't see any use for them!
