AMG Problems

Hi guys I have a 2007 CL63AMG. When I accelerate hard it violently jerks and pauses between 3rd and 4th gear. It's really hard to explain. It's really uncomfortable and scary when overtaking or just trying to enjoy the car. I've recently had gearbox serviced and speed censor plates changed. I'm wondering if this is gearbox solenoid problem? It's like it struggles to find the correct gear and pauses to find it. Resulting in a sudden loss of acceleration hence the jerking. Any ideas ?? Please I'm all ears!!

Sorry to hear of your transmission issues. Did the issue only begin after the transmission service?

Thanks for the reply! No it's been going on prior to the service. I had the ABS warning light come up on dash and my mechanic fault coded the speed sensor plates.

So the symptoms were the same before the service, but the ABS warning light came on prior to being serviced, is that right?

Has the ABS illuminated again since the service and repair?

No all is good. It drives perfect changes gear perfect until I accelerate hard. There's never any warning lights when it does "the thing" (how we refer to it)

What transmission is this ? 722.6 ?

I believe this has the older 7G gearbox and not the MCT box.

Check the level first and foremost.

I think you may need a conductor plate or something of that nature (the name escapes me) but it must be coded in so needs a decent independent / main dealer.

When I had a cls350 with the 7g torque converter box it was very notchy box worse than the the 5g tronic I have in the s211 320. Does the gearbox misbehave in all gearbox settings. ie comfort/sport and with using the buttons or the paddles. I found it would overide the weird shifts when using the manual mode paddles or buttons.

The MCT didn't come available in the e class or c class until late 2009. MCT I find is much smoother than that of the 7g torque converter. The 5g tc box is probably smoothest of them all.

May be worth having an auto box specialist resetting the adaptations programs in the box.

My S63 Coupe sometimes does it randomly, like it can't find a gear or seems to being in too high a gear. This morning I pulled up behind someone who was turning right. When they moved, I pressed the throttle, the engine revved to about 2000rpm like it was in neutral then took off. As I said, it random so pointless taking it into the main dealers as it's bound to drive like a dream. I'm all ears like you
