Does anyone know where I can find out wheel weights for AMG wheels?

Would like to find out the lightest 18 or 19" AMG wheels that I can fit to my E55

Sorry, I meant to say pre facelift W/S212.

Most AMG wheels are heavy, very heavy or extremely heavy. Sorry not very helpful but true. If you can find some forged ones they should be the lightest option but will be very expensive.

I had some 19" AMG IV split rims for my SL and decided to go with forged 19" BBS CH-Rs instead .... they weigh just over half of what the AMG IVs weigh. I can't remember the weights exactly, but that was the ratio. Weird when you consider how easily the AMG wheels bend and crack too.

Cheers, those BBS rims are tasty. Have they lasted well?

Funny you should say that as I took them off the car to clean them (on the inside) and re-wax them and they are literally as good as brand new and I am a fussy bugger so when I say that I mean really like new! Not a mark or finish issue on them, very very impressed. Not cheap, but cheaper than AMGs and worth every penny to me!

Excellent. I had a bit of thing for those gold BBS rims on 90s BTCC cars so think my decision has just been made.

What finish are yours?

Mine are satin black on a black car... it's a bit murdered out look wise, but I like it having seen one in the US done that way. I understand it's not to everyone's taste though.

Yep - all down to presonal preference

I'm liking the thought of these on my silver E55

IV split rims are the heaviest of any Mercedes wheels when compared with a like for like size. The only exception are G wagon wheels!

Anyone got any thoughts of any other good looking lightweight 19" wheels for a silver E55 estate?

Going to use the original 18" 5 spokes for the winter

Yes they weigh a heck of a lot and they seem to bend very easily judging by the number of secondhand ones with welds.

I spoke to a refurbishing place about them and they confirmed that AMG and BMW wheels are more prone to cracks/bending than any other wheel.... in their experience at least.

Shame as the IVs do look the part although I genuinely prefer my BBS, but I know some purists think they have no business on an AMG :D

Have a look at Simon1966 on here. He has BBS alloys on a silver E55 estate.

Slightly off topic but anyone know who's making the AMG (and/or BMW) wheels that are so prone to cracking? In the past it was the usual big names, AAG/Austria-Alu Guss (Borbet) for the stupidly heavy one piece AMG ll, O.Z. made some of the multipiece AMG wheels and IIRC Fuchs and Mahle have also supplied MB?

The cheapest supplier on the day...?
