Just had an interesting experience at my dealers. Earlier this week I took the car in because the glowplug warning light would come on after starting the car and going off again after 2/10th of a mile.

This was fixed under warranty and they also reflashed the gearbox, and finally solved the rare spluttering (loose air intake pipe).

Was told that my rear tyres were down to 3mm and that the rear suspension arm needed replacing - this under warranty -- so arranged to bring it back today.

Well that was done plus two Michelin Primacy tyres - paid for them and drove home telling myself how much better it felt on these tyres.

Got out of the car and decided to look at these "wonder tyres"...and had the shock of my life...............................................

...........................................................................................

OLD Tyres still there................

So called them up and asked did they realise it wasn't April 1st......explained what had happened and they said we'll call you right back.

2 minutes later service manager called - I'll come and collect your car now - but as I wasn't busy I brought it back...he was red faced, embarrased and I could see furious.....all sorted and they decided to MOT the car (1 month early but date it for Dec 4th) ...free.

Now I must admit to being embarrassed too ...how can this car ride better on these new tyres and the old ones be there....lolol...the power of suggestion I suppose or the new suspension arm...I hope..

Anyway all sorted ...........;)

It's the old Placebo effect in full force.

MB Swindon does good, again?

The same reason why your car drives far better after you have cleaned it ;)
