And I Thought I Like To Detail...!!!!!!

I enjoy keeping my car clean but I also have a life and a family. I'm sure my 2 year old enjoys be playing games with here more than she appreciates a clean car.

Also I doubt you need anything like that....

If your two year old is anything like my daughter she not only does not appreciate a clean car, she is responsible for most of the internal rubbish!

And I thought I had alot of stuff!................he should start a detailing business

If it's who I think it is, he does car detailing as his second job. I saw a thread either on detailingworld or on PCGB about a Porsche he did, and the end result was stunning (after best part of 1 week and IIRC about 20 hours of work!). Don't want to think about the cost of having a car done to that standard though!

500 for a car wash wtf imagine a bird takes a dump on it youd be gutted
how much do you think his stuff cost?

Its more than just a car wash. I have seen it done on several cars of my friends car by the supposedely the best in the business and you would be amazed what a difference it makes especially on black cars. Theres a serious amount of work involved depending on what treatment you go for and how much work you need on your car.

The best in the business. Check the before and after photos

As for cost of products theres probably at least 4K plus worth of product there and the best waxes can be very expensive.

Zymol Royale Glaze (1412g) 12001

At least the price includes VAT!!

At the end of the day everyone has a hobby, and detailing is a hobby to alot of people out there as well as the income. We own a huge cleaning company, and our stock is insane!but thats because you need it.As for prices having your car detailed. There is a huge difference between cleaning your car with a bucket and sponge, and detailing your car to a high standard. This is purely aimed at people who have exotic cars (including rare classics) or just cant stand having one tiny swirl mark in the paint, which is me! i spent 26 hours in all cleaning my car last time i cleaned it, but you would only need to do this twice a year, and thats if you love your car.Now if it rains on my car it dosent touch the paint and leaves no water marks when it drys in the sun after rain, and it direct sunlight theres not a swirlmark in site.In fact i gurantee my paint looks better then when it rolled out the factory 6 years ago. I am defently starting detailing as a side venture to our companys meny cleaning ventures.

I am like you H13 BSM

I spent about 15 hours on mine and my forearms were killing me from holding the polishing machine for 2 days. I was very pleased with the results. Its never going to look like a professional detail but I think I got about 90% of the result...........

Impressive! I love detailing but with a 2 year old in the house...and wife, I don't have that much free time. I use Meguires 3 stage polishing process once in a while for the deepest black and otherwise Meguires Nano tech polish for a 'quickie'. I can do the 3 stage process in a few hours and it lasts a while. This guys collection is just insane! Either it's a hobby and he's single or he's got a very understanding wife.

Sorry guys but all that does it make think that perhaps I am not so sad sitting here on a Friday night on mbclub.co.uk watching TV with my next can of Stella.

That said, each to their own and were my car black I would have it detailed.

Nothing necessarily to do with money - more to do with the fact that I am generally happy with a £80 valet before the next local sparrow takes some laxative .......................

The doodies will probably slide straight off TBH.

You mean you don't dry your car with a leafblower? :)

I got someone in to do mine to remove the swirl marks and protect the paint from all the nice seagulls and crows that seem to love my car so much. You can see the difference it's made in the pics here...

SL500 Paint correction - a set on Flickr

The van holds a good selection of the same products the OP shows, would have cost me more to buy the stuff than have this guy do it ( and I would probably have made an ar*e of it anyways)....

^ and a fine job was made of it too.

Car looked stunning when I saw it.

^ ^ Like I say dark coloured cars come out best. Not silver with nano paint .......

Even the nano paint will scratch over time and need some attention. Mind you, on a silver car it'll hardly be noticable. My last car was silver and seldom looked dirty.
