Hi, how can i switch off the speed camera alert on my CLK320CDI
I was driving back from the lakes at 6am this morning and it kept waking the missus up doing silly speeds under the limit and when i acc. after leaving the dreaded 50mph average speed camera zones it sometimes still thinks i'm in them and beeps really loud grr. (if the gps isn't as up to date as the men moving the cones)
I've looked in the handbook to no avail...
Cheers

Comand doesnt have speed camera alerts?

You've got an after market device in the car, cannot find instructions from your car or Comand manual.

yep, comand does not support custom POI, so let us know what satnav your using and we can have a stab at giving swmbo a restful journey :)

it looks more like a benz device that the noise comes from, on the ceiling in the place where a centred dome light would be. also, it still does it when i switch command off and press mute or even switch parktronic off - seems non of these, grr.
Could it have been an option cuz the car has a few extra's like sunroof, ipod connection and bluetooth

Not an M-B part or option. Sounds like one of the little GPS-based warning devices that's been built in.

Is it definitely only when you pass a speed camera or just when you exceed a set speed?
If the latter you may have programmed the speed limiter.
If the former then I would imaging someone has installed a speed camera detector, probably a GPS based device, and wired it into your stereo harness.
Should be easy enough to spot if you pull the stereo.

I could be doing 10mph in a 30mph zone and it will start. The worst is when i come to the end of an average speed camera zone and am legally able to speed upto 70mph and the beeping gets immense because it thinks i'm still in a 50mph zone.
Theres two many roadworks in this country for this device to keep up!

They need to be updated regularly ... obviously yours hasn't been.
