Car
Lots of Mercedes!
Running late to go up to coventry, i rushed into my yellow one at 8.30am saturday, drove about 10 yards when i satrted to hear a brakes seized sorta noise... got out only to find the back of my car had been smacked into

My heart sank, some idiot had gone and done what i had always feared would happen ever since i moved to this flat and had to park in residents bays...

Obviously some blind fool had reversed straight into the back of my car when trying to get in the space behind... Not even a note to apologise...

Cant see well on pics but rear arch gone in quite far so was catching the tyre, and my skirtings all hanging....

Reported to the police, aa came and i followed him all the way back to midlands in my cl..
Left it there and is due to be picked up monday to be sorted...

Hi Jay,

Hope it gets sorted quickly and cheaply. I know how you feel. Sadly there are too many morons/disrespectful folk on the road these days. :(

As you were in a resident's spot there's a chance that a car with it's bumber damaged and yellow paint on it is nearby. It's a slim chance but worth a try. A similar thing happened to me recently. When I confronted the driver about it she openly admitted responsibility.

Cheers,
Simon

Jay,

Some people just don't care.

What narks me is that you now have to claim on your insurance and lose your NCB (hope its protected).

Tough luck Jay, hope you find the culprit as it looks expensive.
As Simon says check round other cars, might bring rewards mate. Good Luck.

Yeh i even have to claim for the aa bringing the car back as they dont cover road traffic accidents...

The residents bays are open to public after 6.30 so could be anyone..Dont think i stand a chance, but will be looking closely at all the cars...

The thing that gets me, is its the back panel on a 23yr old car, something that really cant be replaced, if it is, then it involves a lotta welding etc...
Also got the problem of matching the colour...have this problem everytime...no bodyshop ever seems to be able to get the colour right...

Cheers all

Jay

Jay,

Sorry to hear the bad news mate :( Hope it's all fixed to your satisfaction soon. It's the fact that someone has damaged your car but doesn't have the guts to own up to it that is the gutter... I've had similar experiences :(

Hmm if someone produced home security cameras for cars, recording time lapse images to a HDD, I reckon it would sell like hot cakes
