Another tale of MB dealer inspired woe.

There is just no helping some people.

Some people are just there to get shafted.

I understand your frustration but people do have their own reasons for not wanting to take it further. You, I and maybe 90% but not everyone has the same priorities/time/energy in life.

No, and when I phoned to enquire nobody called me back.

The thing is, I have a 60 mile round trip there. They had my car with a hole (for whatever reason) in the sump. So it couldn't be driven away anyway.

Plus the only reason they had it in the first place is because I don't know of anyone else that has a star machine. I don't know of any independents with experience around here. The ones I do know I wouldn't trust with a lawnmower.

I'm going to try and get the sump back and make a determination then.

I'll then, depending on what it looks like, or if it's been lost, take it up with their dealer principal, MB customer care or the MB head honcho or seek a chargeback with my credit card provider.

I think by then, the chocolate teapot will have truly melted and Willy Wonka will be denying anything and everything

To get anything out of this it's probably better to bring it up with them now, especially as

A: it's free
B: How long does it take to make a phone call
C: Even an email

Start the roll of that ball...

I'm sorry but I can't understand why you would post if you didn't want to act upon the information you received.
I don't think I'm nasty, I actually think I'm a nice person(could be wrong) which is why I tried to help you in the first place, my problem is I struggle to understand people who are a different mind set from myself.
I apologise for my harsh words and hope you can understand and forgive.
