Anybody know of any good indy merc specialists or Autobox specialists near Edinburgh or Lothians?

Do you have a specific gearbox problem or just need it serviced? This guy has done some minor work for me and has a Star machine. Ex merc techie I believe.

Ive recently bought a 2001 Y reg CLK 320 (tip) Auto which has a gearbox issue.
The car refuses to change up into higher gears (goes up to second i think), 55mph=5500rpm approx.
It also does not go from D to Reverse but will go from P to Reverse.

If you're anywhere near North Berwick, Howard Selby is very good. I'm not aware if his place has any particular expertise in autoboxes, he basically repairs and services all makes of cars. I've known him for years and would recommend him for just about anything.
