Any ideas for the Aux input?

I've now got TV in my MB, with a DVD/MP3 player feeding into one Auxiliary input. Works a treat.

Nature, and me, abhorring a vacuum and an unused auxiliary input, I've been idly musing on what I can feed into those empty sockets.

So far I've thought of a reversing camera or a computer. The latter needs something about how to control it (Bluetooth keyboard?) but I wondered if there were any other neat or fun things I can do.

Ideas anyone?

Well, if you mp3 player isn't an Ipod style device I guess you could put one of those in? as in, Ipod kit?
Did you get Digital tv input (assume you did). Can I ask, what have you done in terms of the aerial?

Also intrigued to know which TV solution you went for...

Standard, MB analogue TV. Digital doesn't come to my area until 2012 so I'm not rushing to install that but MB installation would use the aerials already installed if I read the install documentation correctly. Don't see the point of an iPod when I can play a DVD worth of MP3s although I have got USB input.

Digital will already be in your area, the Analogue switch off will be in 2012.

I have just installed an MP4 player, a Playstation 2 for the kids which also plays DVDs and an OEM Mercedes Digituner, these all feed both the Comand and a pair of headrest monitors in the back.

Thanks Chattonmill. I suppose an OEM digituner is an obvious choice. Having installed it, is there any advantage? Is digital better and if so why?

The digi tuner will give you many more channels, although it is not as consistent with signal on the move as analogue, that said I do live in the **** end of nowhere so that could be a factor, also speed affects the digi signal worse than analogue.
The picture is way better quality on the digital.
By installing it you will also get an additional aux input......so then you are back to square one, what to install next:D

Thanks Chattonmill, where did your source your OEM unit? How much did it cost?

I bought it from Richard at Comand UK you will find him floating about on here somewhere, he had a second hand one so I am not sure of the new price though.

I know Richard. I bought my UHI phone kit from him and he was very helpful (and patient) helping me with the instal.

Did you buy the MOST based Digi TV unit from Richard a while back? I asked about that one but it was unsuitable for my car. Guess I'll just have to wait until something pops up on EBay or Richard finds me one.

I did indeed Roger and it is fantastic. Richard really is a gem!

Chattonmill - Thanks. Your car is MOST based, and so was that tuner.

Roger's is D2B based and the 'wakeup; signal is very different - so it woudlnt work on Roger's car (otherwise he would have had it as he enquired before you, or it would have been on my own car)

Cheers

Richard
